As Systems/ Network Engineer/ Administrator, Rich maintained all crucial technological systems with a team of 3-10 in support of ongoing scientific research at a $200M Antarctic research station during seasonal deployments ranging from 6-13 months. This involved overseeing day-to-day IT operations and maintenance as well as designing on-the-fly, customized technological solutions to problems caused by extreme weather conditions.
Rich also documented, developed, and implemented next generation segmented network for McMurdo Station, and planned and executed capital hardware replacement plans for Cisco wireless, switches, and VMWare servers.
